Northrop Grumman Corporation

Shade Construction has completed many projects, both large and small, at Northrop Grumman. All of the projects have been completed on time under aggressive schedules. Shade Construction's project team works closely with the architects and Northrop Grumman's engineers to ensure satisfaction. Recent projects include the complete renovation of 22,000 sq. ft. at the main cafeteria. This includes services for all new kitchen equipment, new seating and serving areas, and extensive concrete work throughout the kitchen equipment area. A complete loading dock facility, which started with reconfiguration of the existing four doors and equipment and continued with an addition of two new bays, new overhead doors, and loading dock equipment, was constructed. A new modernized 18,900 sq. ft. merchandise distribution center and laboratory facilities for research and development were added. Renovation of this area included extensive structural steel modifications to the existing building structure. Simpler projects, such as a single conference room with marker boards and motorized projection screens, have also been completed by Shade Construction for Northrop Grumman.

McCormick & Company

McCormick & Company is a valuable client of Shade Construction. Shade is nearing completion of a technologically advanced kitchen and cafeteria equipped with operable walls for meeting purposes, fully integrated audio/visual systems, and portable demonstration carts. This job is just one example of Shade's ability to work with cutting edge and innovative designs. Past jobs at McCormick include new offices and office renovations.

United States Postal Service

Shade Construction completed their third postal facility and is proud of their accomplishments in completing two new postal offices in conjunction with the upgraded postal service stores. The most recent project is located in the heart of Maryland's state capital and is a major expansion of an existing facility. Shade Construction worked hand in hand with postal representatives as well as the Department of the Environment to carefully control any erosion due to the site's proximity to the Chesapeake Bay.
